The Uniform Project

During highschool, my classmates and I were asked the question: “if you could choose, would you prefer to wear your own different clothes everyday or wearing a uniform?” On one hand, you get to look different everyday and use your creativity, on the other, you don’t have to think much and no one would stick out like a sore thumb. The Uniform Project is produced by Sheena Matheike – started in May 2009, she would wear one dress for one year to practice sustainable fashion. She reinvents the dress with layers, accessories, and all sorts of hoo-has. The project is also a year long fundraiser for Akanksha Foundation, and all proceeds will go to the foundation  fund uniforms and other educational expenses for children living in Indian slums. Being creative with the uniform and raising money for people in need? Dress on sista!
